Residence Life Staff & Offices

Each building has a team of professional and student staff to assist students with their transition to the university and residence hall living. The Residence Life Coordinators (RLC) and Graduate Hall Coordinators (GHC) are professional staff members that live in the residence halls who supervise the student staff, facilitate the overall administrative and educational functions of the hall, and advise the student governments. Hall Secretaries work in the hall offices to provide administrative support and quality service to the students. Community Advisors (CA) live on each floor and serve as educators for residents by working with them to create an environment conducive for academic achievement, assisting with conflict resolution, programming and being a resource to residents of each hall. Community Academic Mentors (CAM) facilitate the FIG programs as well as work with the CAs on community and residence hall functions. Hall/Complex Offices

Each Residence Hall office is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with the exceptions of break periods to assist students. Each residence hall/complex has an office staffed with a professional secretary aided by Student Assistants and Community Advisors. The hall office can help residents with:

Equipment: Brooms, dustpans, vacuums, sports equipment and other miscellaneous items may be available for checkout in the hall office. All equipment must be used within the residence hall and returned within the specified time period. Items may vary from hall to hall and not all halls have equipment for check-out. Your CA or Hall Secretary can inform you as to what is available in your hall.

Emergencies: Report any emergency immediately to your Community Advisor, to the hall/complex office, or call 9-911.

Lost and Found: Please turn in any item found to the hall/complex office. Items will be kept through the academic year. Items of value turned in will periodically turned over to Texas Tech University Police Department.

Mail Service: Mail is delivered directly to each residence hall/complex and posted in the mailboxes. Your box number corresponds with your room number. Address mail to:

As a precautionary measure, it is recommended that checks, plane tickets and other valuables be sent by registered mail. A campus post office, located in the Student Union, offers full postal services. Mail may not be delivered to residence halls during holiday breaks such as semester break and spring break. Stamps are sold in each hall/complex office however packages to be sent cannot be accommodated within the hall office.

Room Changes: During the academic year, students will work with staff within the building regarding any room change requests. For additional information, please see Residence Hall Room Assignments.

Room Maintenance Requests: For maintenance on residence hall rooms, complete a maintenance request form at: housing.fixit.ttu.edu. If there are persistent problems and questions, hall office staff are able to assist students. For more information, please see Residence Hall Facility Management and Maintenance.

Spare Keys or Lost Key: If a resident is locked out of his/her room, a spare key, which must be returned immediately, can be checked out from the hall/complex office. Spare keys are only for emergencies. Failure to return the key within 15 minutes will result in a lock change and the bill Abuse of this policy will not be tolerated.

Lock-Out Policy: There is a lock change fee any time a lock must be changed because of a lost key. If the spare key is not returned within the specified time limit, a lock change will be issued and the charge will be assessed to the residents' housing bill. Suite and apartment style buildings may have additional charges for lock changes due to the layout of the building and all access doors affected due to a lost key.

Refunds: Money lost in washing machines or vending machines will be refunded by the hall/complex office upon request.
