Women in Science and Engineering Learning Community
The Women in Science & Engineering (WISE) Learning Community is located on the 2nd floor of Knapp Residence Hall and is open to female students pursuing studies in fields related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The Women in Science & Engineering Learning Community provides a unique experience for female students pursuing studies in science, technology, engineering and mathematics to live together in an environment supporting their academic, personal and professional success.
Students have opportunities to:

Explore unique opportunities for women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields
- Connect with student organizations, campus offices, and community agencies
- Receive guidance from upperclass students
- Cultivate lasting relationships with faculty and peers
- Attend specialized social and academic activities
- Create study groups and motivate each other to attend class, complete assignments and exchange ideas
First-time freshman Engineering students in the Women in Science & Engineering (WISE) Learning Community can also participate in an Engineering Freshman Interest Group (FIG), in which up to 20 students are enrolled in a common set of course sections during the Fall semester.

The Women in Science & Engineering Learning Community contributes to Texas Tech University's Agriculture & Food Sciences; Engineering, Computing & Math; and Health, Life & Natural Sciences Undergraduate Academic Interest Areas, aligned with the Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources; Health Science; Information Technology; Manufacturing; Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics and Transportation, Distribution & Logistics Plans of Study in the States' Career Clusters Initiative for lifelong learning.
